Withdraw your child from childcare services

If your child has obtained a place in another municipality, you must withdraw them via the Placement Service in The City of Copenhagen.

If your child has obtained a place in another municipality, you have the responsibility yourself to withdraw them from their Kindergarten in The City of Copenhagen via the Placement Service.

If your child is going to start in a private school, you need to withdraw your child from the kindergarten yourself once you know the start date at the private school. Children who are starting in an afternoon scheme at private schools can remain in their kindergarten until the private school begins.

You must personally withdraw your child from the private daycare service. Please note private institutions may have their own individual notice periods'.

You must personally withdraw your child in the respective municipality. 

When you accept a public kindergarten placement in The City of Copenhagen, the Placement Service will automatically withdraw your child from the nursery or public childminding in The City of Copenhagen.  

When you accept a place in an after school center in The city of Copenhagen, the Placement Service will automatically withdraw your child from the kindergarten in The City of Copenhagen. Children starting school in The City of Copenhagen will be offered a place in an after school center from April 1st to August 1st in the year when school commencement occurs.

If you regret accepting a place in nursery, public childminding or kindergarten, you may cancel the place before your child's enrolment date. You can cancel the place by calling or emailing the Placement Service.

Kindly note your child was removed from the waiting list when you accepted the placement. If you wish your child to be on the waiting list for the institution, you must re-register your child. Your child's senority date on the waiting list will be the new registration date.
