Signing up your child on the guaranteed list means that your child is guaranteed a place in a nursery or with a public childminder within 2 months.

Signing up your child on a specific waiting list means that you get to choose a specific nursery or childminder but it is not possible to say in advance how long you will have to wait before a place becomes available.

Yes, your child can be registered one waiting list and the guaranteed list at the same time. If you have signed up your child on the waiting lists of two specific childcare places, however, you must replace one of them with the guaranteed list.

Your child’s name will be taken off the guaranteed list. Your child will still be signed up on the specific waiting list and is eligible to be signed up on one additional specific waiting list. Please note that the senority date on the new waiting list will be according to the new registration date.

If you re-register your child on the guaranteed list, your child will be guaranteed a new guaranteed spot 2 months after the start date of the previous guaranteed offer.

Nothing. If you accept an offer from the guaranteed list for your child, your child will still be signed up on the specific waiting list.

If your child is already enrolled in public childcare, he or she cannot be placed on the guaranteed list, unless you move within the municipality of Copenhagen and the distance from your old home to your new home is longer than 4 kilometres.

Children who do not live in The City of Copenhagen cannot be registered on the guaranteed list.
