International schools in Copenhagen

There is one public international school and several English, French and German private international schools in Copenhagen.

If you wish to enrol your child in an international school, contact the school directly for more information. Most popular schools have waiting lists so apply for a place for your child as soon as possible.

Public international schools

European School Copenhagen (Europaskolen) is the only public international school in Copenhagen. Education at the school is free of charge, but limited places are available. If you choose this option, you should personally contact Europaskolen as the admission process is managed by the school.

Private international schools

There are many private international schools in Copenhagen where the languages of instruction include English, French, German or even Danish. The schools charge a monthly fee. The municipality of Copenhagen does not provide financial support for students attending private schools. You can see a list of international basic schools on uvm.dk.

Enquiries about private international schools

Please be aware that the Child and Youth Administration does not handle any enquiries about private international schools. Contact the private school directly if you have any questions.
