Social psychiatric residential services
There are no residential service offers that are getting put on hold.
All vital functions such as medicine, safety and support for meals are still being carried out, while fewer educational functions are being carried out.
Visits to the residences/residential care institutions are prohibited. However, there may be situations where citizens may be allowed to receive visits from relatives.
Situations in which visits from relatives are considered urgent and wherein the visitation prohibition would not apply, would be:
- in cases where the citizens are in critical condition due to illness.
- in cases where the citizens are dying
- in cases where the citizens are minors and need to be visited by parents or other relatives.
It is important that visitors who have been granted an exemption to visit citizens, respect the health authorities’ recommendations and hygiene advice regarding the prevention of spreading the corona virus.
The visits will have to take place in the citizen's room or in a special room, but are not allowed to take place in the common areas.
Citizens will still be able to visit their relatives at their home, where appropriate.
Support Contact person
Support contacts persons will contact citizens by phone. There will be some citizens who will need a home visit. The utmost consideration will be taken with regards to the distance between people and to hygiene.
Activity and companion service offers
All activity and companion service offers will be put on hold, but it is still possible to contact the relevant contact person by phone and they can also contact you when needed.
Residential facilities and shelters
Residential facilities and shelters remain open.
Special attention is paid to reducing access to people coming from outside, and common areas must not be used for visits.
On Friday, 13th March, 2020, the Social Administration established 50 extra places for homeless people to sleep in Bavnehøj Hall (Bavnehøj Hallen). There is more space between beds in the hall than in many night cafes, so the risk of contracting the corona virus is reduced. The hall is an emergency shelter and all homeless people are welcome. There are staff present in the hall and it is possible to have a very simple meal.

Caring facilities for vulnerable citizens with symptoms of the corona virus
On Wednesday, 25th March, 2020, the Social Administration opened caring facilities with room for 15 citizen in the former nursing home Solterrasserne in Valby. The caring facilities are intended for vulnerable citizens with symptoms of the corona virus and therefore needs an isolated place to be, until they get well again.
The citizens are given a room with private bath and toilet, and commits upon enrollment on social isolation, so that they are in as little contact with other people as possible. This is done to limit infection.
The caring facilities are staffed around the clock and the citizens can be enrolled at all times. For questions regarding Solterrasserne, please contact constituted leader, Poul Ertner at telephone number: 40 62 62 26.
The night café is only open to guests who are staying the night. We are trying to limit the number of people staying overnight and get as many permanent spots as possible for people in shelters..
Drug consumption room
The drug consumption room is being kept open, but only for the injection of drugs.
Housing advisors will contact citizens by phone.
Substance abuse and substitution therapy in Copenhagen
Efforts will be reduced as much as possible. Provision of medication will be rescheduled so that as many as possible will receive their medication at home. Provision of medicine, including methadone, will take place at the door or by employees who are on their way out.
The Vesterbro outpatient clinic is closed.
Housing and Employment Unit
The actual reception is closed but housing advisers, etc. can be reached by phone and will make visits if needed. Employment-oriented efforts are also conducted by phone. All rehabilitation team meetings are cancelled.
Social Services Unit
The actual reception is closed, but you can call the contact centre.
Unit for crime prevention initiatives
Telephone contact is still maintained with citizens in the exit stage of their progress. If the need for emergency citizen meetings arises, this will be done in collaboration with the Police.
