Amager Strandpark

Amager Beach Park offers Copenhagen’s largest beach.

Located just 5 km from the city centre, it is one of the best spots to spend the long Copenhagen summer days and bright evenings. All year round Amager Beach Park is location for different cultural and social events, and especially during summer it is a popular place for sports events of all kind, rock concerts and even open air weddings.

What we are about

The beach park offers a total of 4.6 km of beaches, forming a lagoon with toddlers' pools on  one side, and a big sandy beach with dunes on the other. The southern part of the park has a broad promenade and areas for different ball games and picnicking. From the beach you have a spectacular view of a windmill park and the impressive Øresund Bridge, connecting Denmark and Sweden.

What we have to offer

The beach park is a popular place both for sunbathing and relaxation, as well as for all kinds of sports and activities. You will meet runners, skaters, surfers, swimmers, kayakers, and many more enjoying the beach park’s many facilities. The beach park offers a space for outdoor fitness training and from a small headland, it is possible to go diving. A grassy area at the southern end of the park, known as Femøren (which translates to "the 5 øre coin"), is often used for open-air rock concerts during  summer. The beach is staffed by lifeguards during summer, but the beach is available all year round. For more information on activities, events and life guarded hours, please:
