Register a divorce that took place abroad

If you have been divorced outside of Denmark, you can register this online.

You will be asked to attach

• a copy of your divorce papers in English, German or French

• a copy of your passport or driver's license.

If the divorce took place in an EU country, Turkey, the USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand, it is automatically registered in the Central Personal Register (CPR).

If the divorce took place in another country than the ones above-mentioned, it will not be registered in the Central Personal Register (CPR). You will instead receive a letter via Digital Post regarding the further process.
