Forgotten CPR number
You can find your CPR number on your health insurance card, in your tax documents and on Borger.dk if you have MitID.
Log in to Borger.dk with MitID and see your CPR number
If you do not have access to your CPR number, you can obtain proof of it from Copenhagen Citizen Service. If you live abroad, you can have the proof sent to you by post.
If you live in Denmark
You can obtain proof of your CPR number by making an appointment at Copenhagen Citizen Service and bringing your passport or driving licence and 95 kroner (2025) to pay for the proof.

If you live abroad
If you have MitID, you can send a message via Digital Post to the Civil Registration Office, stating your name and address and attaching a copy of your passport or driving licence.

If you do not have a MitID, you can send an e-mail to folkeregister@kk.dk, stating your name, date of birth and address abroad and attaching a copy of your photo ID. Remember to cover your ID numbers when you send us the documentation, as it is not safe to send ID numbers via regular e-mail.

Delivery of the certificate
We will send the certificate within 3 weeks. The subsequent delivery time depends on the postal service in the country where you live.
