After-school centres and youth clubs

Children and youths can join various leisure activities at after-school centres and youth clubs after school.

After-school centre (4th grade to 7th grade)

Enrolment for after-school centre is open between May and August in the year which the child is about to start in 4th grade.

Opening hours

After-school centres are usually open after school hours until 17:00.  

Youth clubs (8th grade -18 years old)

Youth clubs offer various activities such as sports, music, theatre and outdoor activities.

Enrolment for youth clubs is open between May and August in the year which the child is about to start in 8th grade.

Opening hours

Most youth clubs are normally open on weekdays and during weekends from 12:00 until 22:00. It is best to contact specific club to find out the opening hours.

Is there a childminding guarantee for after-school centres?

Yes, the childminding guarantee applies to children aged 10 to 11 years old.

How do I withdraw my child from an after-school centre/youth club?

You need to give one month's notice if you wish to withdraw your child from an after-school centre or an youth club. This can be done online using your MitID on the 15th or the last day of the month.

Log on to Aula if you are a diplomat posted in Denmark

In order to log on to Aula you and your family must be CPR-registered and have a MitID.

Diplomats who work in Denmark can receive help through the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs can set up CPR numbers to diplomats and their families, ensure the correct registration of children and help with MitID.
