When can I see my new doctor?

You are assigned your new doctor when the Central Person Register (Folkeregister) receives your payment. This means that you can see your new doctor before you receive your new yellow Health Card.

When do I receive my yellow Health Card?

Changing your doctor also means that you will receive a new yellow Health Card with the name of your new doctor. After 2-4 weeks, you will receive it in the mail. Make sure that your name is clearly stated on the mailbox. If you don't receive it, please contact a Citizen Service Centre within 60 days of your application to avoid paying for a new one.

When you are moving to a new address within Copenhagen, you have the option to choose a new doctor when you register your change in address. This is free of charge. Read more on registering your change in address.
