Who can get health visitors?

The possibilities for health visitors depends amongst other things on whether you are older or younger than 65 and how much you are able to help your self.

The City of Copenhagen considers it essential to help citizens to help themselves, so they can manage as many as possible of everyday chores themselves. There are two offers for senior citizens who have the potential to get to support themselves:

1. Guidance in personal and practical tasks:
Here, a physiotherapist or occupational therapist gives you tools and techniques that support you in for example handling personal hygiene, cooking, cleaning and doing laundry. The guidance takes place in your own home and is given up to three times.

2. Training personal and practical tasks:
Here, you train together with a social and health care helper to become better at coping with everyday tasks. An occupational therapist helps you and your helper plan your training. The training takes place in your own home and is given for up to 12 weeks.

If you are in a situation where you will not become able to look after yourself, you will obviously be granted help.
