Certificate of residence
A certificate of residence is a document that in writing proves your address in the Central National Register. You can use the certificate if you need to prove that you have lived at an address for a certain period.
Certificate of marital status
If the document also states if you are e.g. married or unmarried, it is called a certificate of marital status. Only your spouse's, if any, or former spouse's civil registration number is stated in the certificate. The name is not stated. You can use the certificate to prove if you are married or unmarried.
You may choose if you want the certificate of residence or the certificate of marital status in Danish, English or German. It is possible to have added your citizenship and your previous names to the certificates.
How to order a certificate of residence or a certificate of marital status
You order the certificate of residence or the certificate of marital status digitally. Remember to use NemID. You can pay for the certificate by Dankort, Visa, VisaElectron, Mastercard, Maestro and MobilePay.
The certificate will be sent to your digital mailbox. If you are not registered for a digital mailbox, you will receive the certificate by ordinary mail. You cannot receive the certificate by regular e-mail.
A certificate of residence or a certificate of marital status costs DKK 75 (2018 and 2019).
