Is my child entitled to healthcare?
Children are offered seven free special health examinations in the first 5 years. The first examination takes place when the baby is 5 weeks.
From here the child will be offered a study when it is:
- 5 months
- 12 months
- 2 years
- 3 years
- 4 years
- 5 years
It is up to you as a parent to contact your GP/doctor and make an appointment for the health examinations.
In addition all children can be vaccinated against a number of diseases. The vaccinations are free. It is your doctor who vaccinates your child. This may take place at the same time as your child receives a normal health examination.
The Danish health authorities decide which diseases your child can be vaccinated against.
- Diphtheria (Di)
- Tetanus (Te)
- Whooping cough (Ki)
- Polio (Pol)
- German measles (MFR)
- Meningitis (Hib)
