How do I enroll my children in day care?
Nursery and daycare
Age 6 months-2 years and 10 months
Your child can be looked after in a nursery (vuggestue) or in day care run by a child-minder (dagpleje) if the child is aged between 6 months and 2 years and 10 months. Register here: pasningogskole.kk.dk/vuggestue-og-dagpleje (in Danish).
Age 2 years and 10 months-5 years
Your child can be cared for in a kindergarten (børnehave) if the child is aged between 2 years and 10 months and 5 years. In the kindergarten there will be activities supporting the child’s development. Register here: pasningogskole.kk.dk/børnehaver (in Danish).
Non-Danish speaking children
If your child is non-Danish speaking, please contact the coordinator for newcomers by mail NIK@buf.kk.dk
Or call this number (+45) 40 20 25 85.
The coordinator will also need to know your names, address, phone number, and the language, in which the child is most fluent.
The coordinator will make sure, that you will get an invitation to a meeting concerning your child’s needs and the process of enrollment. You must bring your child with you to the meeting. The meeting will be held, in the language, which the child is most fluent in.
