How do I enroll my children in day care?

If you have a registered address in Copenhagen, you can register your child on a waiting list for a nursery, day care or kindergarten.

Age 6 months-2 years and 10 months

Your child can be looked after in a nursery (vuggestue) or in day care run by a child-minder (dagpleje) if the child is aged between 6 months and 2 years and 10 months. Register here: pasningogskole.kk.dk/vuggestue-og-dagpleje (in Danish)

Age 2 years and 10 months-5 years

Your child can be looked after in a kindergarten (børnehave) if the child is aged between 2 years and 10 months and 5 years. Register here: pasningogskole.kk.dk/børnehaver (in Danish)

Age between 6 and 9 years

If your child is aged between 6 and 9 years and is going to a state school (folkeskole) or a private school, it can be looked after in an after-school centre (fritidsinstitution) or a school care (SFO) before and after school hours.
