How do I enrol my children in day care or kindergarten?

If you have a CPR-number and registered address in Copenhagen, you can register your child on a waiting list for day care.

To enrol your child into daycare or kindergarten, you and your child need to have a registered address in Copenhagen and your child needs to have a CPR-number.

Daycare/kindergarten options

Nursery and daycare: Age 6 months-2 years and 10 months

Your child can be cared for in a nursery (in Danish: “vuggestue”) or in a daycare (in Danish: “dagpleje”) run by a child minder if the child is aged between 6 months and 2 years and 10 months. In both offers there will be activities supporting the individual child's development.

Kindergarten: Age 2 years and 10 months-5 years

Your child can be cared for in a kindergarten (in Danish: “børnehave”) if the child is aged between 2 years and 10 months and 5 years. In the kindergarten there will be activities supporting the child's development.
