Folkekøkkener - or public kitchens - are becoming popular in Copenhagen and more and more culture houses are offering communal dining.

Absalon

Every night of the week Absalon offers communal dining. In addition, breakfast and lunch are served daily. Absalon also offers several activities during the week; dance, yoga, bingo, chess, concerts, parties, croquis, table tennis, gymnastics, etc.

Christianshavns Beboerhus

Meal tickets must be booked online in advance, by telephone or in the café. Maximum of 4 tickets per person. Christianshavns Bebeoerhus also offers concerts, circle dancing, conflict counselling, tango and much more.

Det Økologiske Folkekøkken

The public kitchen is open from 23 March to 8 June and again from 7 September to 7 November. Volunteering in the kitchen is an option. Det Økologiske Folkekøkken is a part of Energicenter Voldparken, that also has a city garden.

Volunteering is an option. Kraftwerket is driven by the users of the youth culture house, which makes it possible for volunteers to decide which activities the culture house should offer.

Kulturhuset Indre By

Purchase your meal tickets online in advance, or use MobilePay at the event. Kulturhus Indre By also offers lectures and talks, flea markets, concerts, gymnastics and events in collaboration with different clubs.

Københavns Fødevarefællesskab

This public kitchen is for members of Københavns Fødevarefællesskab only. As a member you pay a fee and in return you can collect organic and biodynamic vegetables every week in the local branch.

Meal tickets must be purchased from 17:00 on location, note that there is a limitation of 5 tickets per person. Send Flere Krydderier is a socio-economic cooperation that creates jobs for women of ethnic minority. The kitchen also offers cooking lessons.

Støberiets Folkekøkken

At this public kitchen you will often be able to experience lectures, mini concerts or information about local activities.

Trampoline House

A donation of DKK 20 for volunteers and DKK 30 for guests is encouraged. Closed on the last Friday of each month. Trampoline House offers counselling to asylum seekers and refugees with a residence permit. The house also offers choir singing, creative workshops, courses in writing job applications, Danish language lessons and much more.
