English-language groups in Copenhagen child care offers

As of June 2017, international parents can get their child enrolled at a child-care offers with English as primary language.

Two Copenhagen child-care centres will provide groups in which the everyday language will be English:

Børnebyen Vandværket - Studiestræde 54 in Copenhagen K – will establish one day-nursery group for infants and one kindergarten group.

Idrætsbørnehaven Bavnehøj (a kindergarten with focus on physical education) - Bavnehøj Allé 40 in Copenhagen SV - will establish yet another kindergarten group.

English may be the native language of some children, whereas – to other children – it will be a language to be learned as a second language. The daily activities and pedagogical frameworks pertaining to these groups will be similar to those of the rest of the two child-care offers – i.e. taking their points of departure in the pedagogical principles, values and traditions applied by the individual child-care offer.
