Your child may be eligible for a free place subsidy in public childcare, private day care and private institutions if the total household income is less than DKK 177,600 per year. The parental payment rate is lowered if the total household income is below DKK 551,700 (before taxes) per year. However, please note that a free place subsidy is not applicable to private childcare run by a childminder.

The income limits are raised by DKK 7,000 for each child under 18 living at home apart from the first child living at home. The income limits are raised by DKK 62,139 for single parents.
