What is a NemKonto (Easy Account)?

A NemKonto (Easy Account) is one of your already existing bank accounts that public authorities can pay money into.

You can choose, which one of your ordinary bank accounts you want to be your NemKonto.

If you wish to change your NemKonto, or if you want to know which account is your NemKonto, use the self-service feature on Nemkonto.dk. The website is available in English, and you need to use your NemID to access it.

You can also contact your bank to get information about your NemKonto.

See here, how you get a NemID.

Everybody in Denmark must have a NemKonto. Most residents in Denmark receive occasional payments of some kind from public authorities, and it is therefore useful and timesaving to have a NemKonto, so the public authorities can transfer money directly into your bank account.

Payments from public authorities into your NemKonto could be:

  • Tax refunds
  • Child subsidies
  • Pensions
  • Student loans
  • Unemployment benefit
  • Housing benefit
  • Social welfare payment

If you do not have a NemKonto, you have to contact your bank.

If you do not have a Danish bank account and wish to assign a foreign bank account as your NemKonto you can use this registration form and send it to NemKonto Support. It can take several weeks to get it.
