How do I register my change of address?

You register your change of address at Folkeregisteret (The Public Registration Office) online using your NemID at borger.dk.

You can register your change of address here.

Scroll down to the last section of the page entitled “Changing address - when living in Denmark”, then press "start" and log in with NemID.

If you don't have a NemID go to  How do I get NemID?

It is free of charge to register the change of address, but you must register the change of address no later than five days after you have moved. If you do not observe this deadline, you may be fined.

Please note that:

  • You can register the change of address as early as four weeks before you move.
  • If you move from Copenhagen to another municipality, you must register your new address with the new municipality.
  • PostNord(the postal service in Denmark) is not automatically notified of the change of address. For this reason, you should also register your change of address with PostNord if you want to receive mail at your new address.
