Do I need permission for filming in Copenhagen?
Film productions are welcome in Copenhagen. You just need to get permission before the shooting starts and to be aware of a few guidelines.
You apply for permission for filming with the City of Copenhagen department called Byliv and also for permission from the police if a shooting requires stopping of traffic.
If a film shooting requires stopping of traffic, even briefly, you need a permission from the police before the City of Copenhagen can give you permission. Therefore, you have to send in an adequate description of the shooting with your application.
There are special rules for filming on private roads and on the cemeteries of the municipality. Contact us at email@example.com for further information.
You are always welcome to contact us to discuss you wishes and requirement before a film shooting.
We recommend that you contact a Danish location manager for help about local conditions. Minor productions do not require a permit.
Contact Byliv on e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
